Nick is a Principal at Blue Heron Capital, where he focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investments, as well as supporting the firm’s existing portfolio companies. Prior to joining Blue Heron, Nick was a principal on the early-stage (Seed through Series B) venture team at Sands Capital, where he sourced, evaluated, and supported companies in enterprise software, healthcare IT, and cybersecurity. Before transitioning to venture capital, Nick held a corporate strategy role at Cvent, a Vista-backed event technology company, and was a management consultant at Monitor Deloitte. He began his career at Cambridge Associates, evaluating private equity and venture capital managers. Nick earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. He and his wife, Claire, live in Richmond, Virginia with their two children.
