Jim is an Operating Partner for Blue Heron, a role that includes his regular participation as a member of the firm’s internal investment and management team. Jim is a proven CEO with 25+ years of experience in the healthcare IT and services sector. He has held executive management and/or board roles at 7 different VC and PE backed companies that have generated an average yield of 5.8x MOIC and $2 billion of enterprise value at exit. In Blue Heron Capital Fund I, Jim represented the firm on the board of Verisma. After a year, he was asked to be Executive Chairman by the Board and his involvement led to a 6.9X MOIC and 40% IRR. In BHC Fund II, Jim represented Blue Heron on the board of Stratasan and helped the company achieve a 3.3X MOIC and 53% IRR. Currently, Jim is serving on the investment committee of Blue Heron Fund III and helping to evaluate opportunities for new investments.
